I can feel her softly padding into the open clearing of my awareness, ready to bipedally bounce into the dark bush in an instant if spooked. She eyeballs me without a trace of judgement, sensing. In her soft stillness, she is ancestrally engineered for agility and for rapid retreat. She finds new territory moment to moment, need not defend her position, has no known enemies.
Suddenly, I feel like eating some earth.
